Locum Fees

The BMA lawyers have suggested that we must not agree local fees and the Exeter locum group will no longer suggest locum rates.

Educational days

Application form for these is attached. Please ignor ethe closing day- will still accept applications!

Joint Formulary

The new formulary is now available. It was suggested that copies can be obtained via the pharmacy at RD&E but there may be a supply/ demand discrepancy!

Chest Pain Clinic

The chest pain clinic wants all new referrals faxed on their new pro-forma. These should be available in all practices.

Internet use

Please get permission from practices to use their internet facilities. This would clarify your position in case of security breaches.

Funding for non-principal group

We may be able to get some funding for the time put into running the group by its members. It is particularly important if this does happen that we are responding to what people feel they need from the group. Please let a committee member know if you have ideas. Suggestions included a group member collating data for an “information cascade”/ updating LMC web page/ providing help with appraisal/ audit etc.

Christmas Party

Sarah Hichens is arranging a Christmas do in January for the locum group. She will need to know numbers at the next meeting and the date will also be finalised then. We are hoping it will be fully funded and will be held at the Royal Clarence.

Future Speakers

In the new year we plan to have a brief  session on  Read Coding. This is because, with the change to GMS2,  practices get part of their budget for quality payment which requires excellent data entry/ Read Coding. We should be meeting these requirements. It was acknowledged that there are discrepancies in coding from practice to practice and that individual practices may want to show us their systems.

We might combine this with a brainstorming session on  how we can provide audit data for appraisal. There is currently the scope for us to shape this ourselves and we would like to do so!

Next meeting Tuesday 2nd December.
