Nick Withers, Consultant Respiratory Physician, spoke on the management of COPD
in primary care.

attended this meeting and fed back our discussions re appraisal and our interest in more
educational input and funding for this. There is a new Education Facilitator, John
Deacon, and there maybe news shortly on educational events.
With
the appointment of John Deacon as Education Facilitator for our
patch the South Western Deanery
will now be organising HPE training for GPs
in our area.
The
first exciting day is to be Friday 19 March

This
day will be free of charge to all GPs. Those eligible for the HPE scheme
(within 2 years of date on JCPTGP certificate) will be able to claim £250 for
loss of potential income for attending. This will apply even if you have not yet
submitted PLPs. If you are unsure of your eligibility

No
drugs sponsorship is being sought for this event.
